Between the Federal Government’s new wellness oriented health care bill that looks like it’s finally going to pass through Congress, and large charitable foundations like the Robert Woods Johnson, or the Wm. J. Clinton Foundation, funds are falling like manna from heaven in the name of childhood obesity prevention.

 

            That is to say for schools, pre-schools, youth groups like the Boys and Girls Clubs, the Scouts, and the YMCA, the lack of funds is no longer an excuse for failing to tackle childhood obesity. The money is there for the asking. The challenge is to find a viable way to get the job done. If you can do that much you’re destined to get whatever you want, need, and ask for.

 

            And that’s where Operation Pull Your Own Weight would like to help out. A half day orientation workshop will run $1500.

 

            And finally, the cost to hire a Childhood Obesity Prevention Specialist to oversee the program throughout your community and to assure the promised results could range from $50,000 annually in small communities, to $100,000 in larger communities. And large metropolitan areas like New York City, Chicago, or Los Angeles will need to hire multiple specialists in order to get the job done right.

 

            By the way, we contend that in this day and age every community should have at least one Childhood Obesity Prevention Specialist on staff whose primary responsibility is to eliminate childhood obesity from that community within one decade, and to keep it under control thereafter. Such investments will not only save this nation trillions of dollars in the long run, but they’ll also immediately create tens of thousands of new and meaningful jobs, at a moment in our history when job creation is a top priority for our nation’s people and its President.

 

            In summary, the money is there for the asking if you have a viable way to beat childhood obesity. And that viable way can be right at your finger tips if you know how to successfully help your kids learn to physically pull their own weight and in the process immunize themselves against obesity for life.
